Volleyball takes on nationally ranked opponents

The week of October 11th Louisburg College volleyball team played 13th ranked Fayetteville Tech and 5th ranked Richard Bland.  

"Even though we lost both matches 3-0, we demonstrated a fighting spirit to build on for the remainder of the season," said Coach Daniel Schulte.

Fayetteville Tech won all three sets (25-11, 25-20, 25-22). Riley Dobson had 9 kills. Jadyn Powell added 8. Jamia Seals had 19 assists.

Defensively, Dobson had one block solo. Santoriya Culliver, Dobson, Mallori Darnell each had 2 block assists. Jamia Seals and Liz Young added 1.

Richard Bland won all three sets (25-17, 25-14, 25-13). Dobson had 8 kills. Powell added 7. Seals and Emeli Colorado-Hernandez each had 7 assists.

Defensively, Dobson and Krystal Lynch lead the Hurricanes with 5 digs a piece. Culliver and Powell had 4 respectively.

Volleyball goes to Lenoir Community College on October 18 at 6 pm. Also, October 20th is the last home match for volleyball. It is a "Pink Out" in recognition of breast cancer awareness.  It will be the last home match for captains Riley Dobson and Tori Culliver. Wear Pink to support.
