Bio

Louisburg College announced the hiring of Ilani Myers as new head volleyball coach on Tuesday. 

“Ilani brings a lot of energy and excitement to our Volleyball Program,” commented Holloman. “The search committee was confident that she was the right choice to lead the volleyball program. She has a bright future as our Volleyball Coach.”

Prior to Louisburg, Myers was head volleyball coach at Carolina Advantage Club for players ages 15-17. While there she also was the Director of Mental Toughness Training where she developed a curriculum and strategized methods to promote positive mental health. She was also the director of Youth Training for players ages 11-14.

This is Myers’ first coaching position at the collegiate level, and she expressed her enthusiasm saying, “I am very blessed to be a part of the Louisburg College community. I am thankful to Dr. Brown and our athletic director Mike Holloman for such an amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to get started!”

Myers began her volleyball career at Grandview High School (Colorado) where she committed to play at Colby Community College (Kansas). At Colby she was on the Academic Deans’ List (2018-2019) and received All-Academic honors (2018-2020). She went on to play at East Central University (Oklahoma) where she was a GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete (2022). In her senior season the team tied the school record for wins (15), was 11-5 in conference play, and achieved the longest winning streak in school history at 9 matches.

Myers attended Shaw University (Raleigh, NC) for a graduate year where she was on the Academic President’s List (2022-2023) and helped the volleyball team to a regular season CIAA Northern Division championship (2022) and CIAA Tournament Runner Up (2022). She was first team All-CIAA right side hitter, second team All-CIAA utility.

Myers is also a Phi Theta Kappa Member as well as a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. She received her Associates of Arts Degree in Psychology from Colby Community College. Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Minor in Sociology from East Central University.

Myers lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.
