Volleyball tops Lenoir in 5

Louisburg Volleyball took on Lenoir Community College at home on Wednesday, September 29.

Coach Dan Schulte commented, "We were disappointed with our performance on Monday and really rebounded to play well and make a good effort on Wednesday."

After losing the first two sets, volleyball topped Lenoir in 5: 21-25, 23-25, 25-20, 28-26, 15-11.

For the Hurricane offense, Riley Dobson had 23 kills. Santoriya Culliver had 15. The Hurricanes also had 12 service aces including 4 from Hannah Barnett.

"We had great efforts by our setter Shyann McClain," said Coach Schulte in regards to her 46 assists.

Defensively, Carly Seay led the team with 14 digs. Hannah Barnett added 11. Santoriya Culliver had 10.

Coach Schulte reflected, "We were missing our starting libero, so freshmen Hannah Barnett started and got better each set and really came through."

Naudika Howard had 2 blocks solo and Genesis Porter had 1. The Hurricanes collectively had 14 blocks assisted.

Hurricanes volleyball will take on Wake Tech on October 1 in Roger Taylor Arena at 6 pm.
