The lady canes battled all night and came out with a 16-14 victory in the 5th set over a highly ranked Sandhills CC.  Sandhills came out strong and won 1st set 25-10.

The canes drew even in a tight 2nd set 25-23 . Sandhills won 3rd set 25-20 and Canes won set 4 25-17.  Both teams fought hard all night, and match came down to the wire as the score went back and forth in set 5.

The game was tied 14-14 and the canes scored the last 2 points with some timely defense from Jessica Beanard who had 27 digs  and kills from Faith Galassi who had 14 kills on the night. 

Faith Myers had 40 assists , Lizzy Tuton and Marlana Jackson combined for 20 kills out of the middle.

"Sandhills played a great match tonight and they really took it to us from the outset of the match. They have a strong team and their record shows that. We hung in there and managed to turn

the tide a bit in set 2 and 4. 5th set can go either way , never know, we got a couple of big digs from Jessica at the end and managed to get the ball to the floor to win. We are getting better

and the team has proven they can fight and come back this season. We have a big match tonight vs Lenior, conference match that we need to win to stay in the battle for the conference tourney."
