Hurricanes volleyball post first conference win over Wake Tech

Hurricanes traveled down 401 to play local conference foe Wake Tech Community College.  Wake Tech came out strong and took early lead in 1st set.

Hurricanes battled back and tied the game at 24, before losing 26-24 in the 1st set.  Canes were able to grab control in set 2 with some timely hitting

from Faith Galassi and solid team defense and blocking; won set 2 25-22.  In set 3 and 4 Canes established the middle hitters which helped to spread out the wake tech

defense a bit, this lead to some easier scoring chances for the other hitters.

"I am very pleased with this teams ability to fight back from a deficit. They didnt get too rattled after set 1, made the adjustments we needed to make and put pressure back on Wake Tech.

We served better as the match went on, and our ball control picked up also. We hung in there and scored enough to win on the road. Nice to get our first conference win."
