Womens Volleyball win their season opener in 3 sets

The lady canes went on the road to claim the 1st win of the season over Central Carolina Community College.  They won the match with a balanced attack led by Faith Galassi who had 8 kills. The canes dominated from the service line and played great team defense. Rebecca Sheehan had 12 digs and 8 aces, Aliza Williams had 7 digs and 6 aces.

Coach Garner said " the team focused on eliminating unnecessary errors in practice from the start of the season and it carried right into our first match. Everybody played a solid match. We have things to work on of course but each person is ready to play their role and help the team win."

Canes won the first set 25-14, the defense set the tone by digging alot of balls, allowing the middles to score in transition. Jessica Beanard had 4 kills early in set 2 and the teams big serving runs helped the Canes run away with the set  25-8.  The team came out determined to take set 3 and won 25-15 , Faith Myers had 20 assists in the match.

Coach Garner is excited about the potential, "overall a great start to the season, now we have to get ready for the next match, if we are willing work hard  and adapt to each situation, we will have a chance to win every match."
