Volleyball defeats Sandhills in 5

On September 29th the Louisburg College women's volleyball team avenged an earlier loss by defeating Sandhill Community Flyers in an exciting 3-2 victory.  

The sets were: (Louisburg 25-22, Sandhills 22-25, Louisburg 25-23, Sandhills 26-24, Louisburg 15-8).

Head Coach Dan Schulte commented "It was good to have second year captain Riley Dobson able to play after coming off an ankle injury." Dobson had 20 kills. Teammate Jadyn Powell led the way with 25. 

Emeli Colorado-Hernandez had 24 assists and teammate Jamia Seals added 21.

Krystal Lynch, Dobson, and Powell had 15, 14, and 12 digs respectively. Dobson, Mallori Darnell, and Liz Young all had block solos. Seals, Darnell, Colorado-Hernandez, and Young combined for 4 block assists.

"I'm glad we could have an exciting match for our home fans watching our team dominate the fifth set to win the match," said Coach Schulte

The Hurricanes' next match is on Saturday at Richard Bland College. Competition begins at noon.
