The Louisburg College Hurricanes soccer team faced a challenging match on the road against the Southwest Virginia Community College Eagles, suffering a 0-6 defeat. The game, played at Southwest Virginia's home field, saw the Hurricanes struggle to find their footing against a formidable opponent.
Southwest Virginia took the lead early in the first half with a goal by Ona Padulles, assisted by Claire Booher, just 5 minutes into the match. The pressure continued, and Anna Museler scored twice more before the half concluded, with goals at 23:57 and 29:20, making it a 0-3 game heading into halftime.
The second half saw no relief for the Hurricanes. Jillanda Sandy added to the Eagles' tally with goals at 47:55 and 65:15, further extending their lead to 0-5. Anna Museler capped off the scoring with her third goal of the game at 86:51, concluding the match with a 0-6 score.
Despite efforts from forwards Ziera Mitchell and Selah Hampton, and midfielder Hannah Liles, who accounted for all of the Hurricanes' shots, the team was unable to breach the Eagles' defense. Goalkeeper Kadence Miller faced a total of 17 shots and made 11 saves.
The Hurricanes' next matchup is scheduled at Richard Bland College.
