Women's Soccer wins on the road

The Louisburg College Women's Soccer team won 5-0 on the road at Richard Bland College. This was their second meeting of the season with the Hurricanes coming up with another victory. Louisburg improves to 2-1 in conference play and 2-4-1 overall.

Sophomore Morgan Jones scored two first half goals with one of them from the penalty spot. The pair of goals brings Jones' tally to 10 on the season, improving from her nine goal season last year. In the second half, freshman Stephanie Mendoza added two goals in the 56th and 67th minutes. Fellow freshman Selah Hampton scored the final goal of the game in the 79th minute, assisted by Neraly Argueta-Mejia who had a couple of assists on the day.

"This was a hard-fought win for us," said Coach Fresco, "we had some players sidelined during the game because of injuries but everyone came together in the end to help with the result."

The next game is away at NCAA Division III Meredith College next Wednesday.
