Women's Soccer Concludes as Region 10 Tournament Runner Up

Louisburg College Women's Soccer concluded the Fall 2022 season as NJCAA Region 10 Tournament Runner Up after yesterday's championship match. Despite the result, the season was full of milestones and record-breaking achievements for the program. 

It was the first winning record (8-4-1) and conference winning record (4-3-1) since 2016. Also, it was the highest winning percentage (.654) since 2014. The Hurricanes had their first appearance in the Region 10 tournament championship game since 2013. 

Individual Awards include: 

Kat Robinson had the most goal keeper wins (8) and most shutouts (5) in Region 10 this season. Alaina Rivera had the second-most goals scored (23) in Region 10 this season (including four hat-tricks) & tied fourth-most assists (7) in Region 10 this season. Morgan Jones compiled the third-most assists (12) in Region 10. Leslie Reyes tied with fourth-most assists (7) in Region 10. 

As far as single game records, the Hurricanes had the second-most goals scored in a game (18) in program history (record 20, in 2013). Alaina Rivera tied for second-most goals scored (6) in a single game in program history (record 8, in 2014 & tied-6, in 2012 and 2013). Morgan Jones tied for most assists (5) in a single game in program history (record tied-5, in 2014).

"This was an incredible season for the team," said Coach Fresco, "everybody put all of their energy into it and I'm so proud of what we accomplished together this year." 

The Lady Hurricanes get a well-deserved break and look forward to the start of the Spring season in February 2023.
