Late Surge not enough against Cape Fear

Late Surge not enough against Cape Fear

In what looked like a competitive game early, the Louisburg Women's Basketball team was defeated handily 106-80 by Cape Fear Community College on Wednesday night.

Early foul trouble hindered the Hurricanes midway through the first quarter which led to at 46-31 halftime deficit for Louisburg.

"We put them on the line too much tonight. Foul trouble took away our aggressiveness on defense and they took advantage of it," said head coach Jason Rasnake.

It was more of the same in the second half with the Sea Devils hitting 7 of their 12 three pointers after the break.

"Every time we made a run, they had an answer. Our players fought to the final buzzer but it just wasn't our night tonight," Rasnake concluded.

Louisburg continues their road swing on Monday night at Catawba Valley Community College. The Red Hawks are currently in first place in Region X play with a 11-0 region record.
