Lady canes basketball roll to the 84-70 victory over Southwest Virginia CC

After suffering a home loss to Bryant and Stratton Wednesday night, the Louisburg College women's basketball team bounced back on Saturday afternoon with a 84-70 win over Southwest Virginia Community College.

The Hurricanes shot 42 percent from the field and made 14 three pointers in the contest. Aniylah Bryant lead Louisburg with 20 points, while Jainaya Jones contributed 11 assists.  Starasia Bell-Freeman finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds.

"I was really pleased with the team effort tonight," said Head Coach Jason Rasnake after the game.  "We had 20 assists on 32 made baskets. We moved the ball well and made the right basketball play.  We executed in the half court and converted in transition as well."

Louisburg improves to 10-4 on the season and 4-3 in Region X play.  The Hurricanes take on Catawba Valley Community College (13-1, 6-0) at 5:30pm on Wednesday night in the Taylor Athletic Center.
