Softball Sweeps Wake Tech in Dominant 2-0 Series Win

Louisburg College's softball team delivered an impressive double-header sweep against Wake Technical Community College, winning both games in commanding fashion. The Canes' offensive firepower and solid pitching helped them cruise to victories of 11-2 and 9-0, improving their record with strong performances across the board.

Game 1: Canes Blast Past Wake Tech 11-2

The first game of the series was a high-scoring affair, as Louisburg College triumphed 11-2. The Canes' offense came alive early, putting up a three-run rally in the third inning that proved to be a turning point in the game. After Wake Tech took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third, Louisburg responded with back-to-back home runs from Reece Pickett and Reah Lee, giving the Canes a 3-2 lead.

The Canes then continued to pile on the runs, adding one in the fourth, three more in the fifth, and three more in the sixth. Jillian Brunton led the charge with a 3-for-4 performance, including a triple and 3 RBIs. The standout performance of the game came from Reece Pickett, who launched a two-run homer in the third inning, finishing with 2 RBIs.

Offensively, the Canes took control in the second inning, scoring 2 runs on a clutch single from Pennica that brought in both Brunton and Mills. Louisburg then exploded for a 7-run third inning, effectively putting the game out of reach. Brunton and Pennica were once again key contributors, with Brunton driving in 2 RBIs and Pennica adding 4 RBIs, including a 2-run single in the third.
