XC back at Royals Challenge

The Louisburg College men's cross country team went back to McCalpine Creek Park in Charlotte, NC for the Royals Challenge, hosted by Queens University.

Sophomores Sean Johnson Jr. and Tanner Ouellette were the biggest bright spots on the team. They both posted season's best times.

"We came into this meet pretty banged up," said coach Chandler Caldwell. "Our top runner dropped out of the race after 2 miles with a leg issue and our Captain Tiwan Woodard was just coming back from injury and was only around 80%. Any time you don't have your top guys out there its going to be tough, but I thought everyone else stepped up in a big way."

Freshman Nehemiah Shannon finished first on the team in a personal best time of 33:34.

Cross Country will travel to ECU Friday, October 14 for the last regular season meet of the year.
