XC Competed in the Queens Invitational

The Louisburg Men's Cross Country team competed in the Queens Invitational on Saturday. The team placed 15th overall on the fast McCalpine Creek Park Course.

"Today was a really really good day for us, but we missed our captain Tiwan Woodard–nursing a minor injury," said Louisburg coach Chandler Caldwell. "Everyone else really raised their game with him being out. Nearly everyone ran their personal best. I'm super proud of the progress we have made. I have been very tough on these guys but they are responding well."

Freshman Jason McIntyre took two full minutes off his time from the first race. He broke 30 minutes. Freshman Nehemiah Shannon finished in 33:36 which was another two minute personal best. Sophomore Korey Pratt had his season debut finishing just behind Shannon. Sean Johnson and Tanner Ouellette nearly beat their personal best and rounded out the top 5 for the team.

Louisburg will take off a week off and then return to McCalpine Friday, October 7 for the Royals Challenge.
