Hurricanes finish Regular Season in Strong Fashion

On Tuesday the Louisburg College men's basketball team finished their regular season at home in strong fashion in a rematch against Region X foe Wake Tech.

Louisburg was off and running early and by the 4:00 minute mark in the 1sthalf the score was 47-25. However, Wake Tech was able to win both the last 4 minutes of the 1sthalf and the first 4 minutes of the second half and several times decreased the spread to under 10 points. The hurricanes prevailed in the end 109-96.

"Our defense got us going early," said Louisburg head coach Bryan Bagwell. "We played with enthusiasm in front of a great crowd on sophomore night and won every lose ball in the first 16 minutes. I was especially pleased with Jordan Beale. He played strong and gave us a much needed presence around the rim making sure that we secured rebounds in the early going."

The Hurricanes shot 63% from the floor on the night. DeShone Hicks lead in scoring with 26 points. He was followed by Terrelle Bowens (16), Bass Diop (15), and Antonio Patterson (15).

Bass Diop gave another good performance around the rim, and Amari Brown gave an excellent showing off the bench.

The Hurricanes finish the regular season with an 18-11 record, 14-8 in Region X play. The region tournament begins next week when Louisburg will take on Patrick Henry at home on Monday at 7 pm.
