Hurricanes score 99 against Lenoir

This weekend Louisburg College men's basketball defeated Lenoir Community College to move back into 5thplace in Region X.

Coach Bryan Bagwell commented, "Lenoir has been shooting the ball really well since they beat us in January. I was proud that we continued to guard tonight even when they made shots early. The hardest thing is to be persistent when things don't always go your way. We did a good job with that tonight and finished strong."

Bass Diop was persistent for the Hurricanes, especially on the offensive glass where he collected 8 boards. Diop had 14 overall rebounds and Antonio Patterson added 9.

Sophomore DeShone Hicks led the Hurricanes in scoring with 23 points. He was followed by Terrelle Bowens with 21. Both Bowens and Jordan Beale were each a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.

All the Hurricanes who dressed out scored in the contest, as Louisburg defeated Lenoir Community College 99-88.

Men's Basketball will play their final regular season game at home on Tuesday, February 25. The game is also Scholar-Athlete award night in which student-athletes with a GPA that is 3.0 or higher are honored.
