Men's Basketball beats Pitt

Louisburg College men's basketball traveled to Pitt Community College Wednesday night for their second match up of the season.

"We knew that Pitt was going to play with a lot of energy at home," said Louisburg coach Bryan Bagwell, "we didn't make open shots early and that affected how we played defense in the second part of the first half."

It was the Hurricanes' worst shooting performance of the year going 2-20 from the 3PT line and 11-19 from the free throw line. However the Hurricanes were able to score enough to win, in large part due to the double-double effort of Bass Diop. He was 11-18 from the floor with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

In the last seconds Louisburg found themselves up by one causing Pitt to foul. JahQuez Sanders sealed the game for the Hurricanes, making both free throws. The Hurricanes won 63-60.

After the win tonight Louisburg moves to 12-8 in Region X play and 16-11 overall. The Hurricanes have two more regular season games—both at home. First they will face Lenoir Community College this Saturday at 3 pm. Then they wrap up against Wake Technical Community College Monday night at 7 pm.
