Jackson Reid had a good night for Central Carolina Community College with 33 points, but it wasn't enough to defeat the Hurricanes Monday night in Taylor Arena.
The Hurricanes took control right away and took a 50-30 half time lead. The game finished 108-79.
"We really shared the ball tonight," commented coach Bryan Bagwell. "We had 26 assists and finally shot it well. I'm pleased with where we are going into Thanksgiving, but we have to keep getting better."
Jordan Beale broke out for the Hurricanes, going 6-9 from the 3-point line and finishing with 26 points.
Aaron Simmons had 10 rebounds and 8 assists. DeShone Hicks finished the game with 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
The victory moves the Hurricanes to 6-3 overall. The Hurricanes return home of December 4 to play host to Guilford Tech at 7 pm with a chance to improve their 2-0 conference record.
Hurricanes are currently 2nd in the Region X conference going into the holiday break
