Canes Top Navy JV In Annapolis

Louisburg football traveled to Annapolis, MD on Friday to take on the Navy JV squad.  In a hard-fought battle, the Canes returned victorious.

Navy struck first, scoring 6 in the first quarter.  LC tied it up early in the second quarter, but gave up the lead on a 26 yard field goal by the Midshipmen, going into the half down 10-6.

The Canes and the Midshipmen would make most of the third quarter back-and-forth, but Louisburg took the lead for a second and final time when Terrance Ervin connected with freshman Javon Harbison on a 25-yard pass.  Deon Yarborough returned a punt for 82 yards at the end of the third to increase the Canes' lead 27-17.  Louisburg put up 21 points in the third quarter alone.

Farrell Murchison and Connor O'Toole both had outstanding offensive games with Murchison rushing for over 100 yards, and O'Toole succesfully executing three extra points in three attempts.

The Canes travel to Danville, VA next to take on the Averett University JV squad on Sunday, September 11th.  Kick-off is slated for 2pm.
