Bio

Louisburg College is excited to announce the hiring of Jailynn Hunt as the new head volleyball coach. Hunt brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success both on and off the court.

"Jailynn's energy, dedication, and passion for the game make her an excellent fit for our volleyball program," commented Athletic Director Mike Holloman. "The search committee was confident in her abilities to lead our team. We are thrilled to welcome her to the Louisburg College family."

Prior to joining Louisburg, Hunt served as the head and assistant coach at Carolina Advantage Volleyball Club in Durham, NC, where she has been coaching since 2019. Her responsibilities included physical training, practice planning, organizing travel arrangements, and interacting with parents, showcasing her leadership and organizational skills.

This marks Hunt's first collegiate head coaching position, and she expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I am incredibly honored to be a part of the Louisburg College community. I am grateful to Dr. Brown and Athletic Director Mike Holloman for this incredible opportunity. I can't wait to get started and work with these talented athletes."

Hunt's volleyball journey began at Parker High School in Arizona, where she was a multi-sport athlete, participating in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. She continued her volleyball career at Yavapai College in Arizona, earning academic honors and furthering her commitment to the sport. Hunt then played at Shaw University in North Carolina, where she was named to the Dean's List and earned All-Tournament Team honors in the CIAA.

Hunt holds an Associate of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Yavapai College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Shaw University.

Hunt resides in Pembroke, North Carolina, and is excited to begin this new chapter at Louisburg College.
