Canes Brave Tough Course for Second Place Finish

Facing a challenging course and solid competition the Louisburg Hurricanes came away with a respectable second place at the Methodist Invitational in Fayetteville, NC beating numerous Division 2 and 3 NCAA teams. The Canes were led by Freshman Halei Ward, for the 2nd time so far this season, finishing 4th in the 6KM race. She was joined in the to 10 by Hailey Ehuler (6th) and Michaela Ackerman (10th) . Adanna Thomas (17th), Imperial Harris (22nd), and Ashanti Patterson (23rd) rounded out the results for Louisburg.

"I'm very proud with the effort that the girls put out today" said Coach Hayman. "For them to tough out the conditions and the course for a second place finish shows that they're putting in the work that they need to be successful. I am very encouraged with today's results and what these ladies showed me, and I think we will take this hard work and be successful for the rest of the season".

The Lady Canes will train for the next two weeks and return to action September 28th for the Queens Invitational in Charlotte, while the Men's team will Compete next week Septemeber 14th  at the Lenoir Rhyne Invitational
