Lady canes soccer looking forward to Region X competition this season

The women's soccer team returned to campus on August 13th for preseason workouts. So far they have been participating in fitness, practice, and team bonding.

In 2018-2019 women's soccer was a club sport, but this year they are a varsity sport. Coach Sierrah Soto and her team is looking forward to being able to compete against teams in Region X.

Soto's team is young and in the building phase. The Lady Hurricanes lost their first scrimmage, but are looking forward to continue to work on the areas that need improvement.

Soto's freshmen—including Jozlyn Lemanek (Rolesville, NC) and Miracle Scott (Browns Summitt, NC)—have made the transition to college well. As for the sophomores, according to Soto, "Destiny Hall came in last year without having much experience and has proven herself to be a strong defender and leader for us."

The women's soccer team is excited to continue to build, develop focus, and practice hard to get ready for their next scrimmage on August 27th and from there continue to work in order towards their first game at Wake Technical Community College on September 11th.
