The Louisburg College Women's Soccer team fell in a Region X matchup on Wednesday to Patrick Henry CC by a final score of 2-1.
The Hurricanes opened the scoring in the first half on an unassisted Allison Allbright goal. The Canes would take that 1-0 lead into the half, but 15 minutes into the second period Patrick Henry tied the match at one apiece.
Neither team was able to find the net in the final 30 minutes of regulation even though both sides had scoring opportunities. Knotted at one in overtime, Patrick Henry was awarded a Penalty Kick on a controversial call. They were able to put the ball in the net and the Hurricanes couldn't answer.
With the loss, Louisburg falls to 4-4-1 overall and 3-4-1 in Region X play. The Hurricanes will head back to the pitch on Saturday for a 3pm matchup at Stratford University.
