Women's Basketball triumphs over #10 Southwest Virginia

Louisburg College's women's basketball team secured an impressive win with a final score of 80-59 in their recent matchup against #10 Southwest Virginia Community College. 

Leading the charge was guard Jade Clowney, who showcased her scoring prowess with a 16-point contribution. Clowney's dynamic play was complemented by 2 assists and 2 steals.

Guard Kandace Daniels demonstrated her scoring versatility, contributing 17 points. Daniels' proficiency extended beyond scoring, as she also added 4 rebounds and 1 assist in her 19 minutes on the court.

Forward Amiyah Evans played a crucial role, contributing 16 points and showcasing her prowess on the boards with 7 rebounds. 

The team's defensive prowess was evident in their 19 steals, disrupting Southwest Virginia's offensive rhythm and leading to valuable transition opportunities. This defensive tenacity also translated into points off turnovers, where Louisburg outscored their opponents.

The Hurricanes asserted control in the paint, amassing 42 points in this crucial area. The team's commitment to crashing the boards, highlighted by 22 offensive rebounds, contributed to second-chance points.

Next up for the Hurricanes, Guilford Technical Community College comes to the campus of Louisburg College. The game is set for 5pm Tuesday, November 21st.
