Women's Basketball Wins 2 in a Row

Louisburg College Women's Basketball won its second straight home game Saturday afternoon against Southwest Virginia Community College. It took overtime for the Hurricanes to pull off the win over the Eagles.

The Canes started off hot, leading 26-15 after the first quarter behind a pair of threes from freshman guard Trinity Smith. The Eagles caught up by halftime, out-scoring Louisburg by 10 in the second quarter.

After giving up 64 points in three quarters of play the Hurricanes were able to hold the eagles to just 10 points off 3 made field goals in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
 
Kandace Daniels hit a pair of three pointers of her own in the extra period to help lift the Hurricanes to a 89-82 victory. Led by Daniels' 27 points, Louisburg had three other players in double figures- Trinity Smith (21), Chloe Rush (17), and Amiyah Evans (15).
 
The Canes are on a road swing next week playing at Richard Bland on Wednesday night and Patrick & Henry Saturday afternoon. Louisburg College will return home on January 31 vs Brunswick Community College.
