Women's Season Concludes

Louisburg women's basketball traveled to Wake Technical Community College Wednesday for their last contest of the season. Louisburg collected 16 offensive rebounds and got to the free throw line 37 times, but it was not enough for the win. The Hurricanes lost 84-72.

Louisburg was 54% from the floor, but shot poorly from the three point line and the free throw line. They were 21% and 57% respectively. The Hurricanes also had 33 turnovers.

Mikirea Shippy led Louisburg with 18 points; followed by Makayla Everette and Shelby Ricks, each with 16. A'Maurya Tate-Smith added 11.

"While we as a team are disappointed in our finish this season, we did make strides in the right direction," said Louisburg coach Jason Rasnake. "We're turning our attention to finishing out the semester with post season workouts and focusing on our academics. Between our current roster improving every day and our talented recruiting class we are optimistic for next season."
