High-level shooting propels Women's Basketball

On January 15 women's basketball won all four quarters to defeat Johnston Community College 86-80.

"It feels good to put two games back to back together," said Louisburg coach Jason Rasnake. "Hopefully it gives us some momentum as we resume classes and continue with region play."

Makayla Everette recorded a double-double in the win with 27 points (on 13-16 from the floor) and 10 rebounds. Shelby Ricks added 23 points while shooting 50% from the floor and hitting 4 three pointers.

Other scorers for the Hurricanes were: Miracle Cornell (9), Mikirea Shippy (9), Dalesha Linebarger (8), A'Maurya Tate-Smith (6), and Antonia Whorley (4).

Overall the Hurricanes shot 56% from the floor and 38% from the 3-point line.

Women's basketball returns to action tomorrow to play at Central Carolina Community College.
