Women's Basketball traveled to Brunswick Community College on Saturday, December 4 for the Region X match up. Going into the contest the Hurricanes had won 3 in a row against Brunswick: 74-54, 69-65, and 77-66.
On Saturday women's basketball was able to outscore Brunswick 33-24 in the second half to secure the win 57-55.
Louisburg coach Jason Rasnake commented, "I'm proud of the way our team played together. We were not perfect but we did enough to pull out the win. We still have a lot of work to do but we are moving in the right direction."
Makayla Everette had a double double with 19 points on 9-15 from the floor. She also collected 13 rebounds and had 4 blocks. Shelby Ricks added 12 points including 3 three-point baskets. Mikirea Shippy contributed 11 points and 5 assists.
Women's Basketball will take the floor again on Saturday after the conclusion of fall exams. They will be on the road to face Bryant & Stratton College at Atlantic Shores Christian. Tip off is at 7:00 pm.
