Women's Basketball outlasts Cape Fear

Louisburg College women's basketball took on Cape Fear Community College Wednesday. The game resulted in a home win for the Hurricanes. The halftime score was 38-29 and the Hurricanes were able to hold on for a 79-74 final.

Makayla Evertte and Jainaya Jones each had double doubles. Everett had 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Jones had 15 points and 10 assists. Aniylah Bryant had a good day as well with 15 points and 5 steals, as Charmille Browne added 10 rebounds.

"We were able to play really good basketball in spurts, but we still have a lot to clean up," said Coach Jason Rasnake. "It was good to be able to pull out the win, but we still need to get better everyday. So we're going to go back, watch film, and be as prepared as we can be for USC-Salkehatchie on Saturday."

The win boosts women's basketball to a 2-1 record. The Hurricanes will take on USC-Salkehatchie in their next match up at 1:00 in Roger Taylor Arena this Saturday.
