Women's Basketball tops Caldwell

After losing a heartbreaker to Spartanburg Methodist last week, Louisburg College women's basketball rallied to beat Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute 73-49 Saturday afternoon.

The Hurricanes took a 22-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

"I'm really proud of the way that our team bounced back from a tough road loss," said Louisburg head coach Jason Rasnake. "We executed our game plan—especially on the defensive end—which led to some easy buckets on offense."

Aniylah Bryant led the Hurricanes with 18 points. Destini Abramson-Lee and Emily Barr added 12 a piece. Makayla Evertte cleaned up the glass, leading her team with 5 offensive rebounds and contributing 11 points. Jainaya Jones had 9 assists on the day.

Coach Ransake commented, "We did a lot well, but we still have things we need to work on. We don't have a lot of time to prepare for another tough opponent on Wednesday."

The Hurricanes face off with Cape Fear Community College at 5 pm Wednesday in Roger Taylor Arena.
