The Louisburg College women's basketball team took on USC Salkehatchie at home Saturday afternoon after winning their last three games on the road. The Indians came into the Taylor Athletic Center with a 6-6 record in Region X.
Both teams battled early with neither team able to pull away in the first half. The Indians took a 1 point lead into halftime.
Early foul trouble put USC Salkehatchie behind in the third allowing Louisburg to attempt 14 free throws in the quarter.
A push midway through the 4th quarter propelled the Hurricanes to a 84-69 victory. Starasia Bell-Freeman led her team with 27 points. Jainaya Jones had another big game with 25 points, shooting 10-14 from the free throw line.
The win puts Louisburg at 7-4 in Region X play and 14-5 overall. The Hurricanes go back on the road for their next three games before returning home again Tuesday, February 25th at 4pm vs Fayetteville Technical Community College.
