Softball eclipsed the 50 win mark for the first time in program history on Sunday. It was the 48th consecutive win for the Hurricanes, also a school record.

Louisburg pitchers are 2nd in the nation in ERA at (1.24) and 6th in the nation with 327 strikeouts. Zoey Jones leads the nation with 25 wins. She is also fourth in the nation with a 0.77 ERA. Kennedy Byrd is third in the nation with 19 wins.

"I'm proud of what our team has accomplished thus far," said head coach Eric Lee, "We had some growing pains early due to the youth and inexperience of our roster, but we quickly found our way. The key at this point is to stay focused and not be satisfied with what we've accomplished in the regular season because hopefully we still have a lot of softball left to play."

The Region X regular season champion #2 Hurricanes play the opening round of the Region tournament Wednesday against Southeastern Community Community College.
