Softball wins two more

Louisburg College softball traveled to Myrtle Beach again Thursday to take on Sussex County Community College (NJ) and Herkimer College. The Hurricanes won both games.

In game one, Louisburg scored 9 runs in the first inning and won 15-0. Seventeen Hurricanes saw action in the game as Sussex committed nine errors in the game.

Ellen Palya and Emilee Prince combined for a 5 inning one hitter with 9 strikeouts. Prince was credited with the win after coming in relief in the 3rd inning.

In game two, Louisburg had a rematch with Herkimer College from Monday. This time the Hurricanes won 9-0.

For the second time in as many starts Carrigan Ewers went the distance. She threw a 2 hit shutout with 6 strikeouts.

Bri Tucker led the way with a pair of hits. Ramsey Schalfer drove in a pair of runs. Lark Collins, Foster Sharpe, Chelsea Roberson scored a pair of runs. 

Coach Lee reflected, "I'm glad we could take care of business on the road before Region X ramps up. I'm looking forward to the challenges that our region schedule will present."

The Hurricanes will take on Surry Community College on Saturday at Sheliah R. Cotten Field at 1:00 and 3:00.
