Clement Shines As Softball Sweeps Methodist

The Louisburg College Softball team swept a double header on the road at Methodist University Tuesday afternoon. The final scores for the pair of contests were 11-3 and 18-9.

"I'm really proud of our kids and their resolve," said Head Coach Eric Lee. "We didn't play very well in the first game today and lacked in a lot of areas, but our team answered the bell when challenged between games."

The Canes were lead by Mary Anna Clement's efforts in the first game where she drove in four runs and pitched all 5 innings in the circle without surrendering an earned run. Clement continued her success on the offensive side of the ball with a 2-for-4 effort at the plate with 4 RBI.

In game two the Canes offense continued the onslaught to the tune of 19 hits and 18 runs in the seven innings. K'Lea Parks, and her team leading .571 average at the plate, had a 4-for-4 effort in game two while scoring all four times she reached base. Freshman Liv Garman had a 3-for-5 game two including four RBI of her own.

Clement came in to relieve in game two and picked up the victory moving her to 3-1 on the year.

Sitting at 5-3 only eight games into the season, the Hurricanes return home for a Spring Break matchup with CCBC Catonsville on Saturday.
