Cross Country 12th at Nationals

Louisburg College cross country traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa last weekend to compete in NJCAA DI Nationals. Going into the weekend they held a #12 ranking nationally and ended up also finishing 12th overall at the event.

Notable runs came from Seth Sharpe and John Gormley. Sharpe finished 32nd with a time of 26:56, while Gormley finished 61st with a time of 28:06. "I was very impressed with John Gormley, and Noah Bankston had very strong days," said head coach Cameron Ruppe. "They stayed consistent throughout the race and ensured that we finished where we did as a team."

Ruppe thinks that the future is bright for the Hurricanes. He commened, "Overall we were hoping to finish top 10 but we had a really strong season this year and are trending in the right direction with 4 of our top 5 being freshmen. We will now take a short break and start preparing for Indoor Track!"
