8 Hurricanes at Track Nationals

Louisburg College ventured to Hutchinson, Kansas for the 2022 Outdoor Track and Field National Championship. 8 Hurricanes qualified for the event. This was the most in school history.

Freshman Kam Tuttle got the Hurricanes started in the long jump. He finished in 12th place with a jump of 7.22m. He also ran his second best time ever in the 200m with a 12.75. Fellow sprinter Keasean Dirks competed in both the 100m and 200m.

Sophomore All-American Sidney Littlejohn competed in the 110m Hurdles after recovering from a strained hamstring. He finished in 14.84–placing 15th.

Sophomore Khamari Arrington had his second best ever throw in the discus at 46.28m. This placed him 12th in the country.

Matthew Bauer finished 4th in the country in the 1500m. It was one of the best finishes in Louisburg history. He also doubled back in the 5K with fellow sophomore John Gormley.

According to coach Chandler Caldwell, "All in all, we had a very productive season. I'm so proud of our team. And we are just getting started. The future is so bright!"
