Indoor Track with 5 National Qualifiers
The Louisburg College Indoor Track team had a good showing at the JDL DMR invitational this weekend in Winston-Salem.
Sophomore Matthew Bauer ran a 15:31 5K qualifying him for Nationals in his 2nd event. Fellow Sophomore John Gormley PR'd in the same event with a time of 15:50, narrowly missing the qualification time.
Khamari Arrington placed 12th against an ACC-loaded field in the shot put.
Freshman Kam Tuttle placed 2nd in the long jump with a jump of 6.78m. He placed 9th in the 400m with a time of 52.58.
All-American sophomore hurdler, Sidney Littlejohn, took down an entire field of D1 and D2 athletes to finish first in the 60m Hurdles (8.18). This was a season's best for Littlejohn.
To cap off a great day, freshman Keasean Dirks broke his own school record in the 60m Dash and set a new school record in the 200m. He finished 1st in the 200m and 4th in the 60m, qualifying for Nationals in that event.
Louisburg finished off a great Indoor season with 5 national qualifiers. Indoor Nationals will take place in Pittsburg, KS on March 4-5. In the meantime the rest of the team will be getting ready for outdoor season.
