Men's Track is Atlantic Region Champions

Louisburg College track participated in the NJCAA Indoor Nationals in Pittsburgh, Kansas on March 5 and 6. The team finished 15th overall, tying the best finish in Louisburg College history.

"I am thrilled with this year's national finish," said head coach Cameron Ruppe. "Tying our schools best with a very large freshmen presence is a huge accomplishment, and we look to continue that trend of excellence into the outdoor season." 

Isaiah Barnes and Sidney Littlejohn had record setting individual performances. Barnes set a school record with a 3rd place overall finish with a 2:29.45 in the 1000m. He was voted an All-American. Littlejohn also set a school record finishing 5th place overall with a 7.97 in the 60h. He was also voted an All-American.

According to Coach Ruppe, "Sidney and Isaiah really showed up when it mattered, finishing well above their seed going into nationals. They are both freshmen and we are excited to see them continue growing as we go to outdoor track."

Louisburg College is Men's Atlantic Region Champions for the first time in school history. The Hurricanes received accolades including: Men's Field athlete of the year, Laterrion Johnson; Men's Track athlete of the year, Sidney Littlejohn; men's assistant coach of the year, Sebastien O'Neill; and men's head coach of the year, Cameron Ruppe.
