Track & Field awaits spring

These past few months have been very challenging with issues surrounding COVID-19 causing changes daily. Louisburg College hired head Coach Cameron Ruppe in the heart of the stay-at-home order in May 2020 but did not let the difficulties of pandemic recruiting slow down his new program. Louisburg College men's and women's track is still on pace to have a full season with national events in Spring 2021. Indoor championships are set for Pittsburg, Kansas.

The team is planning to open Indoor season the first weekend of February, but with COVID regulations still being determined the exact schedule is still up in the air.

Some key individuals that will compete are are Seth Sharpe (5000), Isaiah Barnes (800/1600), Dexter Hill (1500/3000), Quvontre Harper (60/200), and Sidney Littlejohn (60h). Coach Ruppe also believes that he will be able to put together a very competitive Distance Medley Relay and 4x100 Relay.

"We are very excited for the upcoming indoor track season." commented Coach Ruppe. "The athletes have been very flexible and adaptable in these hard times. This has led us to see huge success both in our efforts to stay healthy and in training. The track team has been working very hard during the fall semester with Coach Sebie preparing as the cross country squad is coming off of a great season and is primed for a good showing during track as well."
