Track closes out Indoor Season at Nationals

This weekend the Canes Track & Field team wrapped up their Indoor season at the NJCAA National Championships in Lynchburg, VA. Louisburg had three representatives competing; Tayshaun Chisholm and Aveon Reid in the 60m Hurdles, and Dexter Hill in the 800m.

In the 60m Hurdles, Chisholm finished 10th with a time of 8.15 seconds, missing out on the finals by .07 seconds. Reid finished 12th in 8.25 seconds finishing .17 from qualifying for finals. This wrapped up a successful indoor career at Louisburg for the two hurdlers.

In the men's 800m, Hill ran a time of 2:01.39 to finish 6th in his heat, and 25th overall. He improved on his original ranking, coming in ranked 29th. Hill has now raced at both Cross Country and Indoor National Championships in his Freshman year.

The Hurricanes' outdoor season will get started on March 20-21 at the Mount Olive Adidas Trojan Challenge.
