LCTF headed to Lynchburg, Va over the weekend to compete on the state of the art 200 meter banked track at the Liberty Open.

Mastandrea finished 2nd overall in 15:13 (1 second shy of the school record) and Hinson finished 8th in 15:34, both qualifying for nationals.

Jacob Willis also put on a great performance to run a school record in the 1000 meter event finishing in 2:32.59 and qualifying for nationals.

Other weekend highlights were Haley Sheehan running a solid race in the 3000 finishing in 11:52 And Zach Boyers tying his season best throw in the shot put with 14.44 meters.

"This weekend was a great opportunity to run fast and get some national qualifiers out of the way. We have some adjustments to make but overall we are starting to get into championship ready form" stated Coach Hayman.

Mastandrea- 7th in the 5000, 16th in the mile
Hinson- 9th in the 5000, 39th in the 3000.
Willis- 6th in the 1K, 22nd in the 3000
Boyers- 15th in the shot put
Gamble- 33rd In the High jump
Chancey Gunnell- 33rd in the 400
