Men's soccer wins Region X conference title with 5-2 victory over Richard Bland; host Regional match on Friday

The Louisburg men's soccer team defeated Richard Bland 5-2 in Spartanburg, S.C. Sunday afternoon to win the 2017 NJCAA Region X Championship.
The Hurricanes (14-5-0) got on the board quickly against Richard Bland (17-2-0) with Chauncy Gwaikolo scoring in the fourth minute to give Louisburg a 1-0 lead. Richard Bland would tie the game at 1-1, but the Hurricanes re-took the lead for good after a Tobi Osifeso header found the back of the net. Ryan Goldsmith would go on to convert a penalty kick and both Osifeso and Gwaikolo would score again.

The Louisburg win comes as the second loss of  Richard Bland's season, after Louisburg defeated the Patriots in September.

Louisburg will now host the NJCAA Southeastern District Tournament on Friday and Saturday, with Louisburg facing Georgia Military on Friday
