Men's Basketball has Big Win in Hickory

On February 8 men's basketball traveled to the Tarleton Complex on the campus of Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, North Carolina. Catawba Valley won the last meeting on an offensive rebound and tip in, but the Hurricanes were able to avenge the loss with a COVID-depleted roster.

Louisburg was up 43-36 at the half and was able to prevail 78-75.

"We took care of the ball well tonight with only 11 turnovers," said Coach Bagwell. "Also, we were able to guard without fouling and that was a big deal with a limited roster." There were only 13 fouls called on Louisburg in the contest.

Leading stat getters for Louisburg include: Travon Gray with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 13 free throw attempts; Jimmy Forte with 18 points and 8 rebounds; Almando Cyrius added 12 points and 6 rebounds; and Ayinde Taylor II had 11 points with 8 rebounds.

The Hurricanes travel to Wake Tech on Saturday for their first matchup of the season.
