Big Nights for Several Hurricanes in Thriller

Louisburg College men's basketball traveled to Guilford Technical Community College on Saturday. Guilford Tech was up 51-48 at the half, but the Hurricanes snuck out the win in thrilling fashion, 96-93, on a big shot by Omar Brown.

Other Hurricanes had huge nights in several categories as well. Jimmy Forte led the Hurricanes with 30 points. He was 5 for 7 from the three-point line and 9 for 9 from the free throw line. Travon Gray dominated the glass with 21 rebounds in the contest 8 of those were offensive. He finished with 12 points and 4 assists.

Almando Cyrius had 13 points and 5 offensive rebounds. Omar Brown had 6 assists and hit the game winning 3. Jayden had 11 points with 3 steals, 2 of which ended in big dunks for the Hurricane point guard.

"We allowed too many offensive rebounds for Guilford Tech, and we did not finish through contact as well as normal," said Coach Bagwell, "but I was pleased with our focus and sticktoitiveness to get the win. Congratulations to several guys with big nights."

The win advances men's basketball to 9-4 in Region X play. The Hurricanes will travel to Atlantic Shores Christian School for a rematch with Bryant & Stratton College. Louisburg won the first match up 71-65.
