Exam Week capped off with a win

As exams ended, Louisburg College men's basketball hosted Patrick & Henry Community College on December 10 in Roger Taylor Arena.

Patrick & Henry led by 20 at one point in the first half, but the Hurricanes were able to cut the deficit to 39-34 by half time. Louisburg went on to score 58 points in the second half to win the contest 92-82.

"Our defense at the start allowed Patrick & Henry to get to the paint," said Coach Bagwell, "but I was pleased with our sticktoitiveness. When we went zone it was clear that our closeouts were to get stops and win the game."

Ayinde Taylor II led the Hurricanes with 18 points (6-9, 2-3, 4-4). Almando Cyrius had 17. Omar Brown added 16 points, was 70% from the floor, and had a team-high 4 assists. Travon Gray had 13 points, was a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line, and led the Hurricanes with 7 rebounds.

The win takes men's basketball to a 4-1 in Region X play. The Hurricanes will host #1 Davidson-Davie Community College on Wednesday before the Christmas break.
