Louisburg College men's basketball traveled to Southwest Virginia Community College on Sunday. The Hurricanes got out to a 58-30 lead at halftime and at one point were up 40 points. The final score was 105-76 in the Hurricanes victory.
"It was nice to get the ball in the paint often and start the region schedule off with a win," said Coach Bagwell. The Hurricanes were 19-26 from 2 point range in the 1st half.
As a team, the Hurricanes were 21-25 from the free throw line.
Ayinde Taylor II led all Hurricanes with 17 points. He was 5-8 from the floor, including 2-3 from 3PT, and 5-5 from the free throw line. Point Guard Omar Brown was 6-8 from the floor for 15 points. Jimmy Forte also scored 15 points, contributing 3 makes from long range. Tim Robinson rounds out Hurricanes in double figures with 10 points to go with his 4 offensive rebounds. Jamel Marbuary had 5 offensive rebounds.
Men's basketball takes the floor again Tuesday at Lenoir Community College for their second game in Region X play.
