5 Hurricanes Score in Double Figures in Win

Five Hurricanes scored in double figures as men's basketball defeated CCBC Dundalk on Saturday 91-74.

CCBC Dundalk started the game up 2-0, but then there was only 1 lead change as the Hurricanes took over and held a 10 point margin for a lot of the game. The halftime score was 44-34 and the Hurricanes went on to score 47 in the second half to win convincingly.

"I was happy to see us make shots today," said Louisburg coach Bryan Bagwell. "Our defense should've been better and it will be next week."

Offensively for the Hurricanes Omar Brown led the way with 18 points on 6-10 from the floor including 4-5 from three; Jordan Kearney had 15 points being 5-12 from the floor with 2 threes; Travon Gray had a double double with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists; Ayinde Taylor II also had 13 points; and Jamel Marbuary added 12 points–being 3-4 from three–while adding 5 steals.

The Hurricanes return to action for a final non-conference game on Wednesday to take on Caldwell Tech in Hudson, North Carolina. The game will tip at 7 pm.
