Men's Basketball pounds the paint in Win

Louisburg College men's basketball travelled to Lenoir Community College on Monday for their last contest before Thanksgiving break.

The Hurricanes took an early lead and never looked back. The halftime score was 53-42 leading to a 104-95 final.

Jahiem Niblett led the Hurricanes with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Harry Cash had a career high 20 points. Luke Jones added 19 on 7-8 from the free throw line. Justin Stephens contributed 5 made 3-point field goals. He and Jones had 5 assists each.

The Hurricanes collected 45 rebounds in the high possession match up.

"We did a great job getting the ball inside," commented Coach Bryan Bagwell. "We had roughly 50 field goal attempts in the paint. When you combine that with 20 made free throws you're going to get a good result."

The Hurricanes head into the holiday 5-3, 3-1 in Region X play. Men's basketball returns to Roger Taylor arena next Tuesday to face off against Caldwell Tech Community College at 7:00 pm.
