Louisburg College men's basketball went on the road Saturday for their first Region X contest. The Hurricanes pulled out the win 71-64 against Fayetteville Tech.
Neither team shot the ball well. Louisburg was 14% and Fayetteville Tech was 13% from the 3 point line. "We just had to find a way to get stops," said Coach Bagwell. "We couldn't allow our offense to affect our defense."
Louisburg got in quick foul trouble as 46 fouls were called in the game. This caused the Hurricanes to be down 36-32 at half time. However, the foul situation was to Louisburg's benefit as they made 24 free throws at 77% to seal the win.
Caleek Cobb had 18 points. Dedric Powell and Anthony Harris added 10.
The 3-2 Hurricanes go to Atlantic Shores Christian School in Chesapeake, Virginia to take on Bryant & Stratton next Wednesday at 7 pm.
